Carolina Mountain Dermatology, PA was established in 1986 by Dr. M. David Cogburn. Dr. Cogburn was born and raised in the Asheville, NC area and attended the University of North Carolina at Asheville. After completing medical school and his Dermatology residency/internship he returned to Asheville and opened the doors to private practice on July 1, 1986. In 1998, Dr. Frederick W. Gourdin, joined the practice exclusively performing Mohs Micrographic surgery. In 2004, Jay L. Clarke, PA-C joined the practice and in 2006, Tammie Callahan, licensed esthetician, joined the practice bringing a full line of aesthetic treatments and skin care products to our services.
While treatment of dermatologic conditions of the skin, hair and nails as well as Mohs Micrographic surgery remain our primary service, we also offer a full line of non-surgical cosmetic options including Botox, Juvederm, Restylane, Perlane, Evolence, and Sculptra as well as in office tumescent liposuction.
